i want to know what is the effect of enabling RTS/CTS on the actual throughput of a 54Mbps speed?

Re: RTS/CTS effect on throughput

hi colin,

thanks for your reply, i meanly ask about RTS/CTS as i have the following scenario

1- one AP with omni-directional antenna works as mesh portal

2- nine AP's each with 13 dbi directional antenna work as mesh points to the mesh portal

i want to maximize the throughput of the mesh point,

it seems that this scenario suffers from hidden AP problems as each mesh point won't be able to hear the others and whiling sensing the mesh channel and that will cause many collisions

so i want to know when enabling RTS/CTS in the mesh points what will be the actual throughput of the mesh network

also i don't know if Aruba mesh links use access method differs from CSMA/CA to improve the mesh network performance
