Aruba Controller 7010

    I,m new in configuration Aruba controller 7010, I just finish installed the controller and do basic configuration, at my customer site they have for Level 1,2.3,4
    so Ap for each level is 4 Unit..my customer network have 4 different vlan Wifi Access , vlan 15, for level,vlan 16,for level 2, vlan 17 for lvl 3 and last vlan 18 for level 4,
    what I am doing for the Access point Group in the controller is Ap_Group 1,2,3,4 for one group Ap I add 4 access points as per installed follow building Level and configure 1 SSID for All Access Point Group =Staff@Wifi , my problem is when I tagg Vlan Id 15 in Aruba Ap Virtual Profile (L1) for user to get Ip address ,from network vlan 15, The rest of the  Level Group Access Point  L2,L3,L4 keep Follow tagg vlan 15 in Ap Virtual Profile so user at L2,L3,L4 failed to get ip address caused switch configuration vlan tagging is different for every level. need assistant  to solve the problem...

    Hi Mohd,

    We would recommend a single-vlan design, use one vlan for one ssid for all floors together. Separate vlans for the same ssid will result in endpoint client roaming issues (when a client roam to another floor, it will roam but will not change the dchp/ip without a manual reconnection). A single-vlan design is the recommended design for this.

    If you really want the current question, its possible from the CLI.

    AP Group
    • Virtual AP Profile
      • VLAN
      • SSID Profile
      • AAA Profile

    On the CLI you can create different virtual AP profiles with the same SSID/AAA profile but with a different VLAN, bound this Virtual AP Profile to the right AP Group.

    But again we would recommend a single-vlan per SSID when the networks are in the same campus area where client can roam to without reconnect (this wil cause issues as mentioned early).

    If your not familiar with Aruba or creating a correct wlan design contact your local Aruba Partner to assist you.
