Hi Eric.
As Alex pointed out, there are number of current comware switches available.
5945 is a great switch and you can tailor it's configuration to your needs. You have fixed and modular variant. Modular variants have 2 or 4 slots.
5980 is also suitable model you could use.
If you go with ArubaOS-CX switches, you could go with 8360 or 8325.
Best, Gorazd

Subject: Replacement of HPE 5900 AF switches
We have four HPE 5900 AF switches that act as our core routers. We think it may be time to have them replaced. They are going on 7 years old. Network design is fairly straigtforward with two of the switches in an IRF stack. Can someone make a recommendation for replacement of these switches? They all use primarily single mode fiber sfps with a mix of multimode and copper ethernet sfps mixed in. I just need a direction to go in. We want to stay with HPE/Aruba. It doesnt have to be comware for an os but we are very comfortable with it. Obviously a product/line that is not close to be EOL'ed.
Thanks
