Hi Chris,
Try this:
<HPE> system-view
[HPE] undo password-recovery enable
I believe these switches are password protected to go into system-view<privileged mode>.
Which command are you using to
restore the factory default configuration?
Refer pg. 141 from the below link of the user guide for
factory-default configuration:https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c04657809# Initialize the device.
<Sysname> initialize
The startup configuration file will be deleted and the system will be rebooted.Continue?
[Y/N]y
Now rebooting, please wait...

Subject: Resetting a JH295A (HPE OfficeConnect 1950 12XGT) switch
Dear all,
I'm a newbie and stuck with a JH295A switch. All of a sudden I can't access the device via web. Getting time out.
I managed to get serial connection via Putty but I can't restore the factory default configuration due to this:
Password recovery capability is enabled. To perform this operation, first
disable the password recovery capability using the undo password-recovery
enable command in CLI.
I need a step by step solution to disable this. (including syntax).
Thank you in advance for all your help!
