    Hi All,
I have a question regarding extending my current 4 member 5700 (HPE FF 5700-32XGT-8XG-2QSFP+) series IRF ring topology stack.
Our supplier has come back stating the 5700 model in EoS/EoL and the replacement is the 5710 series.
I have read in the HPE FlexFabric 5700 Switch Series IRF Configuration Guide manual and an IRF compatibility guide that:
"A HPE 5700 switch can form an IRF fabric only with devices in the same series".
Does same series mean that any 57xx series will be fine to combine together in a Heterogeneous IRF / Mixed IRF, or can i only join 5700's together.
    Regards,
    James

    Hi James,

AFAIK 5700 and 5710 can't be mixed into the same IRF (in other words Heterogeneous IRF is not supported between 5700 and 5710 as it is, as example, on 5800 and 5820X) so if you - mandatorily - need to extend your current 5700's IRF with additional members you are then forced to look for other 5700 SKUs (New Old Stock or refurbished) or plan for a full change and move to a IRF made of 5710 SKUs.

As per Product EoS Announcement (the planned EoS was January 31, 2020), the HPE 5700 32XGT 8XG 2QSFP+ Switch (SKU JG898A) was replaced by the HPE 5710 48XGT 6QS+/2QS28 Switch (SKU JL586A), see here.
