I have been tasked with testing the above unit and when i am folowing the 'HP KVM Server Console Switch G2 user Guide'. When i initially boot the unit, the OSD screen appears for about 10 seconds and thereafter, it changes to a window which just says 'Free'.

there is no mention of theis 'Free' windoe in the guide, can you advise as to what is causing this problem please?

I don't think this relates to Aruba or networking. Please find a forum for HPE Servers or console servers.

I think they stopped reading after the word switch. A console switch is not a network switch, it's related to servers.

Apologies for the misunderstanding and 'ping-pong'; but Aruba does not have console switches as product as far as I know.

Do you get OSD when you press Print Scr or Ctrl+Ctrl keys? As Herman noted, this is a Rack&Power product for servers and need to be ask on HPE Support Portal.

It is advisable that you upgrade the switch to latest FW if it is on versions prior 3.0.

I get the OSD screen immediately after a minute or two of booting. nothing is selectable on this OSD screen and it disappears after 5-10 seconds and is replaced with the window that says 'Free'
I cant get access to the Firmware revision because of this issue and there is no firmware label on the units enclosure. Could you send me a link to instructions for upgrading the firmware, if i am not looking at a more serious issue?

and no, pressing Print Scr or CNTR+CNTR does not activate the OSD screen at any point
