I am seeing an unusual warning on a 7040 controller that states Filling up the default gateway configuraiton. Just checked the config for default gateway and there is a statement about load-balance-gateways. Would this have something to do with the warning?

Can you provide a screen shot of the error you're receiving? Is this from the CLI, or from the WebUI?

This is in CLI.

Did you ever get a response to what was causing this error in the log?

I'm having this same issue on my 7205 running 8.6.0.2 when I look at the "show log system all". I only have one default route and 1 default gateway set in my configuration. Pretty simple

According to previous posts, fpapps is the process that takes care of L2 and L3 connectivity in the controller. 

Is your controller the default gateway for any of your client VLANs? Is the controller providing DHCP for any of the VLANs?

Edit - Also can you try enabling logging on the fpapps process to see if this provides further info?

Sorry when I said I hadn't heard anything on this I was replying to an email I got from another engineer.  I just looked at our environment and I no longer see these errors in the log.  We recently upgraded to AOS 8.5.0.7 and will be upgrading tomorrow to 8.5.0.8.  I am assuming something in the new version of code eliminated the errors but don't really know.

I certainly can get that log for us.

and just as a reminder, I'm running 8.6.0.2 which is the latest code. if others in this post have stopped it in 8.5, maybe its a bug in 8.6 that needs to be revisited... 

the log "filling up the default gateway configuration" should not be a warning, it should be "debug" at best, and it should be ignored.

It is logged when the config is parsed by show-running (and perhaps other config related operations), e.g.

The next question for the Aruba folks is... why?  Why does this even happen? and why is it at a "warn" level"?

why:  was added for debugging the internal building of the output of the running config

why is it a warn: it shouldn't have been, likely it was meant to be removed at some point and was missed/

anyways, it's gone as of 8.9.0.0 (and higher) via bug AOS-220515
