Hi ,  Students are allowed to registered gaming and media devices mac address for wired access, I have been coming across windows computers being registered as gaming devices and they seem to be allowed to connect.  This doesn't work for MAC OS, I am assuming it is associating it as a XBOX.

Has anyone else come across this ? is there a way to fix/adjust it , as this wasn't an issue when we first had clearpass installed.

    Thank you

Can you tell if they actually are xBOXs or Windows? Because the xbox shares similar TCP/IP stack with a windows machine (and can present similar destinations like xbox online gaming), they can appear from a DHCP profiling perspective alone as Windows.

What you can do is key off hostname if that's an option as XBOXs by default will have xbox in their hostname.
