We have two racks in a LAN room, and need to have a switch in each rack. I would like to stack these switches, but need about a 5 metre stacking cable to do so. I am advised that the longest stacking cable is 3 metres, is this correct? Are there any alternate methods for connecting these switches in a stack. The model is JL322A.

    Thanks
    David

Hi David, Aruba 2930M supports backplane stacking and the longest stacking cable is 3m.
Aruba 2930F and Aruba-CX switches like 6200, 6300 can do front plane stacking with VSF. You can use DAC cables or fibre cables for front plane stacking purpose.

Hi David,  Not an official Aruba cable but sure looks like the correct product and it does come in a 5m variant.

They have a US division called Phantom Cables.

I have quite a few of the official Aruba cables but you are correct 3m is all I have ever found for them.  I have not tried the Infinite cable version but at the price point ($84.55 CDN) it might be worth a try.

Thanks John. Although it looks look like stacking cable, the URL includes DAC, which I believe the 2930M doesn't support. I'm in the UK, so I don't think it would be worth ordering on the off chance it works.
