We have discovered 315's with the version 6.5.0.0 will not show up in the conductor running 8.10.0.1. Work around is to do the following from the serial port of the AP.  Also the serial port for the 315's are a 4 port adapter to USB (hard to find the right one)

    setenv master x.x.x.x

    saveenv

    boot

    after upgrade

    purgeenv

    saveenv

    boot

What is that access point using for discovery?

Aruba home which is the default.  The issue is a bug with the 315's that have the version 6.5.0.0. We had some 315's that did not get all the updates we performed on the controllers and by the time we grabbed some from inventory with the version 6.5.0.0 and our controllers were on 8.10.0.1 they will not phone home.  Now in our test lab we took the 315's with the 6.5.0.0 and rolled back our controllers to 6.8.0.0 updated the the 315's and then they were able to see prod controllers in the 8.10.  The commands I posted earlier is the way of updating the 315's by pointing them to our test controller.
