    • Hi All

Good day, we have a current setup of Aruba 7205 MC, we are planning to make it HA, anyone who has a step by step guide to create the HA and minimize the down time?

so far here is a draft of the activity we have come up with:

      1. configure new Aruba 7205 MC same as the existing (offline)
      2. transfer AP license files from old to new
         - not sure if this is possible offline
      3. disconnect existing Aruba 7205 MC from network
      4. connect new Aruba 7205 MC to network
      5. verify AP connectivity
         - check if the AP's were transferred to the new 7205
      6. upgrade old Aruba 7205 MC firmware
      7. connect old Aruba 7205 MC to network
      8. configure HA
         - anyone with a step by step guide?
      9. Check WLAN connectivity

      appreciate the help, thanks

Do you have a Mobility Conductor (MM)?
What OS version do you run now and do you plan to upgrade to?
What HA method do you plan?

    Hi Herman

It's currently a single Mobility Controller, Current AOS version is 6.5 and if I'm not mistaken the latest version for the 7205 is 8.9.x.x. As for the HA, we're thinking of getting another 7205.

If you are making the upgrade from 6.5 to 8.10/8.11 (would do that instead of 8.9), you will need to rebuild your configuration as there is no direct conversion of the config. Best to work with you Aruba Partner to get this done as it's not a 'next, next, done' upgrade. There is also something with 8.x HA just controllers without Mobility conductors, but I don't remember what it is.
