We have two 7210 controllers in a Master/Local configuration pair.  Every 2-3 months or so, all clients will start losing connections and failing to connect out of the blue.  Restarting both controllers "fixes" the issue, until it happens again later.

I couldn't find information about this in the forums or release notes.   Has anyone heard of this, or have any thoughts?  Or perhaps it is normal procedure to reboot the controllers periodically to avoid this problem?
(When it happens the problem affects hundreds of users, and we have not taken time to dig into it further when the problem occurs.)

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

If you can, you should open a technical support case to find out what the problem is WHEN it is occurring.  If you do not do that, the circumstances cannot be analyzed, and you could be back in the same situation again.  There is no expectation of rebooting a controller periodically to maintain performance.
