    hello

    I have connected a 6100 (1/1/25)  series on 10GBs SFP to a 8320 (1/1/1)

the interfaces are configured as below

    interface 1/1/1
        no shutdown
        no routing
        vlan trunk native 1
        vlan trunk allowed all

I have no IP connectivity between the switches  on VLAN 1 or a test VLAN 2

VLAN 1 & 2 will not come up on the 6100 unless I connect to another port as an access

the VLAN will not come up using a trunk interconnect only

software version on the 6100 is shown below

intra connectivity on the 8320 is ok -- the core switches are configured for vsx  with full IP connectivity

What is the status of the physical interface on both switches? Admin UP and Status UP?

Are the VLANs configured on both switches?

What kind of test are you running that fails?

What does Spanning Tree look like? Any of the ports in question blocked/inconsistent?

    it is a single link

    6100 – 1/1/25 --> 8320 ->1/1/1

the neighbors show up on LLDP

the vlans will not come up if I have only the links above connected

I am trying to ping from VLAN 1 to VLAN 1

Are there no other cables plugged in to this switch? No possible loops? or rogue stacking links?

Run a "show vlan port 1/1/1" or "show vlan port 1/1/25" to confirm the VLAN presence

Also run a "show spanning-tree summary port" to ensure nothing is in a "blocking" state.

Do either of these switches have an IP address on VLAN 1 themselves? or are you pinging other hosts on VLAN 1?

the vlan IP Addresses are on the switches

    there are no redundant links

    please see below

VLAN  Name                              Status  Reason                  Type        Interfaces

    2     VLAN2                             down    no_member_forwarding    static      1/1/1,1/1/25-1/1/26

Just that VLAN table above doesn't give me quite enough information.

I would need to see the output of the commands I sent earlier - as well as the individual interface configs and the LLDP output.

Zak you were correct on your theory of a loop on the network

The VSX lag were not configured correctly

I have IP connectivity VLAN to VLAN from access switch to core

When I configure the access trunk link for a Multichassis LAG ID the interfaces drop

Thank you for all your help
