Network Management

Dear Experts,

I have installed Airwave 8.2.14.1 with trial license. Using VMC as standalone 8.9.0.3.

1) I created a group called Aruba Controller with monitor only mode
2) I add the device with ip address and correct snmp and telnet/ssh details
3) On VMC, under mobility controller hirerachy, i connected to Airwave with correct snmp string
4) Device connected and showed up. But there are 2 problems.

1) I cannot change management mode from monitor to manage. Its greyed out
2) Its not showing any configuration when i click on Aruba Controller > Controller config.

Please advise

When i try to do it from the list page, by clicking on edit, selecting the device and management level, then clicking on manage read/write, it gives below error

The following devices do not support management mode: MC-1

Management for AOS8 controllers is not supported in AirWave. For AOS8 architecture controller management is from MM.

Hi,

Irrespective of Airwave version, for AOS8, the controllers can be managed by MM only and there is no support for controller management in Airwave. AOS8 controllers can be monitored by Airwave.  However, configuration management for Instant APS with AOS8 is supported in Airwave.

Airwave backups controller config nightly and the same will be see in the controller > config page.
It does have option to show running config or create a backup now for the controller.

All of the monitoring will work in AOS8. Use AirWave as AMON receiver on the controllers, more data will show up including Clarity, AppRf etc along with controller, AP and client details

This has to be set manually.
