So the problem was the /etc/issue file. I guess at one point it got edited with the AMP version 3 times. And looks like updates are not editing the file.
But it took me an hour with TAC to convince them to generate the awsupport password so it could be edited. They wanted to modify the vm settings, shut it down, and who knows what else, even though from the beginning of the call I told them what the problem was and how to fix it. Unreal.

Subject: Airwave console login banner - is it MOTD?
Noticed that after upgrading our instance from 8.2.14.1 to 8.2.15.1, that the login banner (or is it MOTD) in the console, shows an older version information - AMP Version: 8.2.12.1. The message is displayed 3 times on top of it, in addition to the CentOS and Kernel information.
Is this a bug from a prior upgrade issue? We had them going into 8.2.14.1 (apparently not enough disk space) and recently to 8.2.15.1 (no idea what happened - upgrade didn't go through and TAC got involved).
Can't seem to find an option to set an MOTD, or would TAC need to be involved?
TIA.
