We are try to implement VMC cluster with 40 Aruba 505 IAP

We already formed VMC cluster using 32 APs

But when we adding 33rd AP to the cluster, suddenly all other APs are disappearing from the cluster except cluster master AP.

Then we remove newly added 33rd AP from the network, then All other APs are immediately appear in the cluster.

    Note:
All 40 IAPs are in same firmware version
We use DHCP Pool to issue MGMT IPs for the IAPs
Network/Switch port configuration are all ok.

    What would be the issue?

Guys Help me to resole this issue

so i take it that when you say VMC, you are talking about Aruba Instant VC.
is the 33rd AP that you are adding factory defaulted?

Management is happening in the default/native VLAN (as recommended)? Or do you have management VLAN configured in the running cluster to use a tagged VLAN for management (deprecated)?

Do you have auto-join enabled in the running cluster?

Can we assume that after the new AP is added all the existing APs can still be PINGed via their physical IP and also the new AP can be PINGed ?
If so, have you tried logging into one of those - non-VC - APs ad have a look there to see what it thinks the cluster looks like ?
Again can we assume that the VC instance  is using a reserved IP address that can't be used by a physical device ?

And as a test, when the new AP is added, you could try rebooting the VC and see what happens then.

    Regards, Ewan.,

    Hi Ewan,

    • Yes when we added ne AP All the APs are successfully pinged including newly added AP.

    • Also, Newly added AP broadcast SSID of the VC.

    • When we logon to the newly added AP immediately redirect to the VC Master AP IP address. (Once we logon to VC there is appeared only VC Master AP)

Exact Issue is : When we added 33rd out of 40 Aruba 505 IAP Immediately all APs disappeared from IAP VC excluding VC master AP
But once we removed that newly added AP from the network all other 32 IAPs are appeared within the VC

    Hi Dhanushka,

From what you are saying the new AP must have joined the cluster as it starts broadcasting the SSIDs that have been configured on the existing VC.

AND you get re-directed to the VC IP address.

Could you factory default the new AP and connect it to the network again, then could you try disconnecting the current VC AP and see what happens.

I am struggling a bit here, as it would appear that you have done everything correctly.

    Regards,

    Ewan.
