    1x Aruba MC 7010 (AOS 8.6 -> AOS 8.10)

    19 x compatible Access Points

    1x ALE server V2.2.03 (Context Mode / Randomized MAC Location Enable / AMON no RTLS / Context (station, application, proximity) mode) / NO Airwave)

    Upgrading our MC from AOS 8.6 to 8.10 caused unexpected big lose of data related to unassociated clients in ALE. This is not only happening in ALE dashboard but also in data provided by its API.

    Rollback to AOS 8.6 in the MC leave everything in its original numbers. Notice that not a single change in the configuration is done during the process.

     Any clue about what is happening?

    Thanks!

    The IoT subsystem has undergone a few severe updates in the versions between AOS8.6 and AOS8.10. You may check the release notes for each of those versions, or just work with Aruba Support to get to a quick analysis of this. I expect you need to change configuration on the controller side to include all info that was sent by default on 8.6.

    Hi Herman.

    Thanks for taking your time to answer. We have reviewed all release notes finding nothing relevant about AMON (or even RTLS) messages. Also, the online / official ALE's manual (2.2.0.3) remains using the same instructions for configuring the controller side.

    "Default" to "Not by Default" features and options were also our first suspects, but no success with that. (We have also reproduced this issue using AOS 8.9, by the way.)

    Of course, we have opened a case with Aruba support. I'm guessing that is related to the amount of traffic and the needed optimization for IoT support and Aruba Central integration but see no documented strategy about that.

    Let's see. I will update this with any support information.

    Best regards
