ap-303 wont reset

    morning all i have an ap-303 and i have forgot the password i have tried the button press 50 times with no luck. i dont use a controller just wanted to set up as stand alone. anyhelp will be a great help

    Are you pressing the button, as the AP Boots UP? 

    Press/Hold the Button > Plug in the AP to Power/PoE > Hold Button for 10 more seconds.

    Yes tried both ways and once is fully rebooted and still cannot log into the web interface it says wrong password admin admin

    Depending on the firmware version. The initial password is now the serial number of the AP.

    Hi Zack I have tried that also.
    I have tried via ip that’s supplied from dhcp.
    I have tried not connected to the network and reseting. The. Using the setmeup WiFi. Still no luck

    Can you advised anything else.

    If you are seeing the SetupMeUp SSID, than the AP is likely at Factory Default settings - unless the admin credentials were already changed. 

    If the AP is running code newer than 8.4, than the default credentials will be admin and serial number. Are you entering in upper case?

    Do you have other IAPs on the same subnet? If they formed a cluster during a boot, then the password maybe the serial of a different AP. 

    Has this AP ever been registered with Aruba Central?

    Yes I changed the admin credentials. On first boot but then left it for a couple of weeks and forgot them. Hence the reset yes I tried lower case uppercase.

    Not sure if it’s running the newer code 8.4 how would I find out ?

    Yes I had another iap running and in the virtual controller it showed the non resetting so.

    As for registering I haven’t. I did notice on the working ap it said central managed for the working one but I cleared configuration hoping that would revert all settings back to factory.
