    Hello,
I have an Aruba 303 AP  that once was used in a controller (mobility master) enviorment.
I am booting it in a LAB with no controller and keep getting this "runnig ADP..."  and after a minute it is getting  "Running ADP /tmp/master No such file or directory".
    I did a factory_reset with console
and try to do with the actual bottun but still see the old AP name in IP_Scann  and cannot boot it.

    any help please.

when you did the hw reset, did you press and held the reset button and then connected the poe or power adapter and then held it for 5 sec or so?
if you have a console connection you a few messages about erasing image.

    I did this.
And also factory reset from the apboot.

If it is an AP version and not API, then it will not boot without a controller?

AP-303 can be IAP as well

I encounter similar issue like this

    https://community.arubanetworks.com/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?MID=33403

    Here how I fix

    1. erase first by pressing and hold hole at the bottom for 5s while plugging ethernet poe

    2. follow this and set static ip and upload using latest firmware

    HI Gtaboy34,

it looks like it is trying to find a controller to boot from.

If you do have a controller in the lab make sure that it can PING the AP on 10.0.0.4.

If you are running it stand alone it will need to have IAP-303 on the label on the back and not AP-303

    Cheers,
    Ewan.

You can install Instant image with upgrade command from boot prompt as it is discussed in this thread.

    Short recap.

    1. Connect console cable
    2. Power on AP
    3. Interrupt boot proces
    4. boot> dhcp
    5. boot> serverip <ip address of tftp server>
    6. boot> upgrade os 0 <instant ap image name>
    7. boot> boot
