    Hello everyone,

I would like to share an issue that I have on ALL our Aruba 6200F 48G Class4 PoE 4SFP+ 740W Switch (JL728A).
The 3rd FAN is showing N/A status for the RPM.

    ===================================================
    6200F JL728A # show environment fan

    Fan information
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Location- Product Serial Number Speed Direction Status RPM
    Mbr/Slot/Fan Name
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    System-1/1/1 N/A N/A slow left-to-back ok 4117
    System-1/1/2 N/A N/A slow left-to-back ok 4126
    System-1/1/3 N/A N/A N/A left-to-back ok N/A
    ===================================================

The issue is not noticed at all on other models (of the same family) like JL725A and JL727A => The value is displayed

I tested with all the latest images (including the latest train ML.10.11.0001) and it is the same.
We have opened a case with HP support, but so far we are struggling with it.

I suppose this is a bug for this model, but just wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue on this specific model JL728A.

    Thank you !
    Kara

When you see the NA status on fan 3 is it physically spinning and working?  Have you looked at it directly?

    I could check on JL725A and JL724A

    Vendor : Aruba
    Product Name : JL725A 6200F 24G CL4 4SFP+370W Swch
    ...
    ArubaOS-CX Version : ML.10.11.0001

    Time Zone : UTC

    Up Time : 3 weeks, 3 days, 13 hours, 46 minutes
    CPU Util (%) : 6
    Memory Usage (%) : 30
    6200# sh env fan

    Fan information
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Location- Product Serial Number Speed Direction Status RPM
    Mbr/Slot/Fan Name
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    System-1/1/1 N/A N/A slow left-to-back ok 4154
    System-1/1/2 N/A N/A slow left-to-back ok 4156
    System-1/1/3 N/A N/A slow left-to-back ok 4104

Both show right fan speed on both AOS-CX 10.10 and AOS-CX 10.11.

I suggest that you open a TAC case.

    Hello ascott and Vincent,

Many thanks for your respecitve answers.

To answer you, I did not opened the box but yes all the 3x FANs seems to be working fine.

What is strange is that the " JL728A fan3 RPM in N/A status (while global status OK)  " issue seems to be specifically affecting ALL of our JL728A (I checked on a dozen of JL728A and the same issue for all of them).

And indeed as you checked, the issue is not affecting our JL724A and JL725A.

I guess the issue (not displaying the FAN3_only rpm on JL728A only) is certainly a bug that prevent to retrieve this value for JL728A.

We are working on it with the TAC but just to ensure the issue global for everyone having JL728A.

Thank you for your feedback and happy new year !
