    AVB devices report "Switch port is not 802.1AS capable».

    Please advise on how to enable.

    I doubt if AVB is supported on 6300s.

    We run Dante audio over 6200 and 6300 switches all the time without any issues.  The biggest thing to keep in mind is that you need to make sure IGMP is setup and working correctly.  I've not worked with PTP at all.  I know Dante supports it but doesn't require it.

    It's a little more than that but not much.  The command you listed enables L2 IGMP snooping but you also need to get it setup on L3.  Here's the config I run:

    vlan 14
        name DANTE_PRIMARY

        ip igmp snooping enable

        ip address 192.168.14.254/24
        ip igmp enable​
    Note that all of your switches should have an IP on the same subnet as your devices in order for the querier to function properly.  Once that's all setup you can run 
    show ip igmp​
    to verify that everything is working.  You should get output similar to 
    # show ip igmp

    When you first set it up the Querier state will be different while it goes through the querier election process but once that's done exactly ONE of you switches should have the Querier State of 'Querier' while the others should be 'Non-Querier'.  All of the switches should list the same Querier IP and it should match the IP address of which ever switch was elected as the Querier.  Also make sure that 'IGMP Snoop Enabled on VLAN' is 'True' and that you're seeing Active Group Addresses (assuming you have devices already connected to the network)

    Hi davidwk could you give us any advice about this topic? maybe to show us the right setup about igmp and any other advice for Dante audio? We have an issue with audio... when they send video and audio simultaneously, it doesnt work.

    There's not a lot to it other than was I posted previously.  Do you have IGMP enabled like I recommended?  Could you post the output of show ip igmp from every switch the traffic traverses?  When you say "it doesn't work"  what do you mean?  Does the stream not reach its destination at all?  Does it get there but audio and video are out of sync?  Is it jittery or distorted?

    I've not done any video in this setup but I know it's been discussed.  My guess is that to make video and audio work reliably you'll need full AVB support (or, at a minumum, PTP).  That will likely require a 6300 running 10.13 or newer firmware but that's just a guess.

    We have 6200F switches with the following configuration, but we see.. only audio works fine, only video works fine, but both... don't work, my guess is same as you... maybe its needed the full AVB support with other kind of switches, however if you see anything weird or any advice in the configuration we'd really appreciate.

    Are you using Dante AV to transfer audio and video? If you are transfering audio as Dante and video as another format (like NDI) I think there is no way to sync  those without external software.

    You have checked that uplinks to core are not utilized no more that 85% of link speed? 

    Two recommendations for config which may help:

    1. Do not remark all packets to dscp 56 (no qos dscp 56)
    2. Trust dscp (qos trust dscp) Remember to trust it in all network gear.

    Hi Steinar,

    6300M supports following PTP profiles:
    There is no 802.1AS so it's not supported.

    I am personally not familiar with Dante, but Wikipedia says the following: "Dante is a combination of software, hardware, and network protocols that delivers uncompressed, multi-channel, low-latency digital audio over a standard Ethernet network using Layer 3 IP packets."
    Since it uses standard Ethernet and IP and unlike gPTP (802.1AS) does not require support from the switch, it should work without issues. You probably need to tweak QoS to prioritise Dante's traffic to avoid delay and jitter, but that's something that you need to do on all Ethernet/IP network devices when you deal with audio/video, it is not something exclusive to Aruba :)

    If I remember right, AVB is coming to 6300M in fw 10.12 as well as PTP boundary clock (which might make life more easy when using AES67/Dante)

    The 10.13.1000 Enhancements in Release Notes state:

    Audio-Video Bridging (AVB) defines features, options, configurations, defaults, protocols,
    and procedures of bridges, stations, and Local Area Networks (LANs) that are necessary to
    build networks that are capable of transporting time-sensitive audio and/or video data
    streams.

    AVB operates on the concept of stream reservation. Stream Reservation Protocol
    (SRP) is an amendment to the IEEE 802.1Q standard (standardized separately as 802.1Qat)
    to provide end-to-end management of resource reservations for data streams requiring
    guaranteed Quality of Service in Local Area Networks.


    AVB is supported only on the Aruba 6300 and 8360 Switch Series:
