    Hello All,

We already have 20+ IAP-345(RW) JZ031A running in our office. We are looking to add few more and was wondering if the US version, JZ033A will work with our existing APs. We are based in Canada.

    Thanks

    Hi KB,
No, you cannot mix regulatory versions. The US version can only be configured for country code setting US (and the codes for US territories), while those countries (as well as Japan, Israel and Egypt) are explicitly excluded from the RW version.

In addition to that, running a US AP in Canada may get you into legal issues as it violates regulatory requirements.
Similar applies to running a RW inside US Territories. You should not even be able to order US APs from Canada, and if you do (pre-owned through market places for example), they may be seized by customs. But it will not even work as Onno mentioned.

We have a similar situation. Is there any way to re-fw the US AP's to change the regulatory domain to RW?

No you can't. The regulatory domain is tied to the hardware for legal reasons. You should not have US APs outside of US Territories, nor you should have RW APs inside; so the situation should not exist unless APs are shipped to places where they shouldn't.
