    Hi,

I am looking at a specific client in Airwave, client detail shows the last seen and first seen records but nothing else in association history. There is no diagnostic data either, the actual menu item "diagnostic data" which is normally on the left hand side underneath the client detail section doesn't show up at all. It shows up for other clients.
What could be the cause for this issue and is there another way to retrieve client association history?

    Airwave version 8.2.15.1

    Thank you!

Do you see see things like association speed and goodput for clients?  If not, you need to configure AMON and point it to your Airwave server.

    Hi,

What is Client association history set to under AMP Setup > General > Historical Data retention?
It is possible the client is not seen for X days, if X is the association history interval and hence there is no data. There is no option to retrieve data if the association history is already expired.

    Thank you for the reply.

Inactive clients are set up for 60 days. The client's last seen date stamp is 4/25 so its history should still be retained. That was a good tip though, thank you!

Inactive client retention is to show clients if they have been active in last X days.
Association history is different. That is controlled by client association history setting right under Inactive client setting.

That might be it, association history is only 14 days. I would like to increase that limit, would it cause the logs to be too big? Is there a recommended maximum number of days?

    Thank you!

Increasing the data retention values does not increase logs. It increases the database size which is disk space. With this the report generations for that data takes little longer depending on number of entries.

If you are increasing for a couple of months or 3 months, i dont think there would be issues. If its an year or so, then you may see slight slowness in respective reports or page loads. you can increase based on your needs as the disk space is there. The amount of data depends on your client count and amount of roaming so we cant just know the size. You can start with increments of 3 months and watch for disk space usage and performance.
