We have APIN 225 that convert to IAP.
We have convert to Version:6.5.4.10 and configure it as standalone.
However after 5 days this IAP cannot broadcast SSID and I cannot login into web GUI console or SSH.
We need reset default again and configure it again.
How to solve this problem with IAP?

What method did you use to convert the AP-225 into an IAP.  Since you cannot get into the IAP after conversion, we would be guessing what your problem is.

Are there any error messages after you convert that could give us a clue what is happening?

APIN225 can refer to an AP-225 model, or an IAP-225-RW/US/JP/IL model. Please check the sticker on the back.

AP-225 cannot be converted to Instant mode.
If you have an Instant AP-225, and it initially works (as you mention), but after some time it gets some different configuration, it may be that the AP is registered in Activate to convert to a RAP, or connect to an Airwave server, or Aruba Central.

Where did you get these devices from? Could it be that these are still under management by a previous owner?

    HI there,
when you say Convert I'm assuming that you mean upgrade.
You can also upgrade  via the GUI.
Down the bottom of the GUI screen a message will tell you if the AP is being controlled by AirWave or Aruba Central - in your case neither options should be showing.
The 225 has an RJ-45 as a console port. I suggest that you connect to that to do further debugging. If yiu get really stuck then do a factory reset and start again.
    Regards, Ewan.

    Hi Evan,

It's not upgrade, APIN 225 it's only connect and manage via Controller base.
We need convert to IAP due to there is no controller at another site.
We have console also when did convert it.

    Hi Herman,

We have bought this device on 2016 with Controller 7030 also.
We need some AP at another site without controller, standalone only.
We have convert it using tftp.

    Hi,
I am afraid that there is no way to convert a Controller based AP - CAP- to an Instant -IAP - Access point.
The other way around is possible IAP-->CAP but not CAP-IAP.

    Regards,
     Ewan.

    Hi Ewan,

Convert from AP to IAP already successful and configuration done.
But after several days configuration back to blank and cannot broadcast SSID.
We need some information from respective team

    Hi Idham

You can't convert Campus AP to Instant AP with TFTP. You need to use controller with 8.6 or later version to do it. If you just upload Instant FW on campus AP, it will work (or not) until next reboot. The convert procedure is described in docs and also you can find it in previous discussions.

Converting CAP to IAP is not for production use. You can provision your AP as RAP and install it on second location. In this way you can retain full controll over the AP configuration.

    Best, Gorazd

Hi, you can try resetting the AP using a paperclip.
