We clearly know now that it is a routing problem. On some location it works with these Aruba switches, because there is a correct, different routing path.
I don't know if this will help you.

Hello, I am using the same switch and I am receiving a general error when I try to use SFTP. Did you find any fix for it?

Hi Arne Opdal
Thank you for your input!
It doesn't make a difference. I still get the same error.
And I know what the ? does. ;)
The options from copy startup-config sftp ? are:
- HOST-NAME-STR Specify hostname of the SFTP server.
- IP-ADDR Specify SFTP server IPv4 address.
- IPV6-ADDR Specify SFTP server IPv6 address.
- user Specify the username on the remote system.
- USERNAME@IP-STR Specify the username along with remote system information (hostname, IPv4 or IPv6 address).
I see on the network firewall that the allowed rule has been hit.
So something is happening. Do you know by chance how to see the logs for port 22 in the eventviewer on the Windows Server (functioning as a SCP/SFTP-Server)?
I want to get more information on the problem.
Do you have any other ideas?
Dario

Hi, this is the Aruba CX simulator community
You could try something like:
copy startup-config sftp user Cisco 10.1.1.1 port 22 test_aruba.cfg
If you use ? at command line you get help faster than asking here ;-)

Subject: Copy SFTP doesn't work on aruba 2530 switch
Hi everyone
I have an SFTP/SCP-Server running with the ip x.x.x.x and I try to back up my startup-config of the Aruba switch (HP J9777A 2530-8G Switch) with Image stamp: YA.16.10.0021 onto the SFTP-Server. I configured the user Cisco with a password on the SFTP-Server.
Ports 21 and 22 are open on our firewall and on the local firewall of the SFTP server.
When I try to back up my startup-config on my HPE 5130 Comware with SCP it works.
On the Aruba switch, I get the error: sftp: Request failed
It also never asks for a password.
I use the command:
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Best Regards
Dario
