Hello
ProCurve 2810 is a pure Layer 2 switch. DHCP Relay (ip helper) is a feature of Layer 3 switches because the DHCP packets have to be routed in another subnet. The 2810 is probably connected to a router or Layer 3 switch which is configured with IP interfaces serving as default gateway for the different VLANs. The IP helper should be configured on the router/L3 switch.
The uplink between the 2810 and the router/routing switch should be configured as a VLAN trunk (or port tagged in all VLANs). This will allow the DHCP traffic from all VLANs to reach the router and from there the DHCP server.

Subject: DHCP for Procurve 2810
Hello
I bought the used Procurve 2810. Unfortunately only later I found out that it doesn't have ip helper command.
I have a DHCP service on the Freebsd server.
How can I configure the Procurve 2810 that it can get IP addresses for the different VLANs on it?
Thanks
