How can Aruba locate IoT devices?

There are number of ways.  The most common have been Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-based trilateration using RSSI via Aruba APs.  While those are by far still the most common today, Aruba now supports the new 802.11mc location standard.  It uses FTM (fine time measurement) and RTT (round trip time) to calculate distance.  RTT has the benefit of linear error vs non-linear error using RSSI.  This leads to more accurate location calculations and doesn't require additional infrastructure.

More details on how it works are in this blog

    Tim,
What cmd would be needed to enable this on IAPs? I could not find any reference to CLI or UI cmds to enable this feature.

    Thx

    Hi Bhupinder,

You'll find some of the most recently added commands in this quick guide on What's New in Aruba Instant 8.8.0.0
Another great resource is the Aruba Instant 8.x Command-Line Interface reference guide

Under the 'wlan ssid-profile' you can set 'ftm-responder-enable'. I'm not sure it's supported in UI to date.
