    Hi.

Is there any free IPhone software that will display the AP name once it is connected to that AP?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I am also an Android guy. Most iPhone user I know have a second Android Phone for Wireless Troubleshooting. Options with iOS is very limited.
For Android I can suggest to use Aruba Utilities - free of use (it says Aruba but it is vendor independent)

    Cheers

Yes, there is a free application from MetaGeek's called Air Viewer that runs on iOS that will pick up Aruba AP names...but their hardware is required and is not free. This is because Apple does not pass on IEs from Beacons/Probes to the application layer like Android/Windows do. The way to get around that on iOS is to use a third party device like what MetaGeek is doing here with the Wi-Spy Air.
