    Using the IoT sensors ETHSU or the EMSIU from EnOcean it is possible to measure the temperature, humidity (and even occupancy, light level, door status or accelerometer state)    this can then be sent to a USB adapter over 902 MHz into the access point.   you can avoid landing on the corporate network and follow the ZeroTrust security layer in sending this straight to a cloud application.   the ETHSU and EMSIU also run without batteries so nothing to die or maintain.
