    I have 160 2 part wids/wips license, meaning they are AP and RFprotect, I have a new single 7240xm, since licensing is in a centralized single pool how can I use these License for a wid ? I also have AP license that are 3 part, AP, PEF and RFprotect.  Licensing would be easier if I could create my own pools, such as a Wid/Whip pool and an AP pool since wid/wip license are cheaper.

    You would still need to use an AP license along with the WIDs/WIPs. Is this an AOSv8 environment managed by a Mobility Conductor?

    Appreciate if any one can help with the article for configuration of wips and testing of wips to make sure whether it is configured properly or not .

    And collection of logs to see the evidence of rogue APs .

    Appreciate immediate response.

    Thanks in advance...

    I did have these 2 part license on a seperate controller at one point and they worked fine for the wids/wips, The single 7240xm is running AOS8.6, no mobility conductor. I just dont want to lose these license because of the way Licensing is done now.

    Seems this discussion was hijacked with some out of context questions.

    In AOS8 (like in AOS6), the licenses on a single controller should 'add up' and are capped on the lowest number of assigned licenses.

    Few examples:
    100 AP + 100 RFP + 100 PEF =effective=> 100 AP + 100 RFP + 100 PEF
    100 AP + 100 PEF => 100 AP + 100 PEF
    100 AP + 100 PEF + 3 RFP => 3 AP + 3 PEF + 3 RFP

    If you have a mobility conductor, you can use license pools to assign licenses from a pool to a specific controller, but still on that controller the same logics apply. If you just have 2 WIPS/RFP licenses, those will need to be on a separate controller because of this.
