I experience strange behavior I our conductor/controller/Eduroam environment,

after upgrading to 8.10.0.4_85105. on sep. 30.

There are logon problems, and MS Teams cut off trouble.

The logon is rejected numerus times, all on MS window, Ios, and Android devices,

    before one successful.

Some MS Teams works flawless for the duration of the call.

Some AP's blink with orange led…

    Anyone !

You could have any number of issues.  I would type "show log system 50" and see if anything there stands out.

I have identified this to be related to only AP-655,

and Teams calling one to one. (Teams meeting ok)

On a one to one call, an extreme packed loss,

    and connection failures is experienced.

It is on all SSID's, intra ssid, or from one to one-other

    Anyone else ?

    What clients?
When you ping that client from the wired network when not on a call, do you get ping drops?

What model ArubaOS did you upgrade from?  What model controller are you using?  Also, do you have a specific ACL you are using in user's traffic?  Did you add the built in voice acl added to that role?

We are experiencing similar issues with 8.10.0.4. We currently have an open case that has been escalated to engineering. With Teams one to one calls we get a delay starting (around 11 seconds) with no issues on conferences calls generally, users to report teams experience being "rubbish". With skype for business we get one way audio and the call drops after around 30 seconds or so; the captures we sent over to Aruba TAC have shown the packets being sent over the air to the client but their not in the client packet capture. Oddly when the client has one way audio they also can't access dropbox.com!

We have this issue on both 515 and 535 APs. We found yesterday that a 303h AP connected to the same controller doens't have the issue.

    Thank you all,

Yes yesterday I had a whole day with tac

aviating report, but no change, however it revealed that the problem

extended to series 5xx as well.

Only when under coverage of 2xx/3xx, Teams calls are flawless.

No other than stating a lot off small packed (UDP), at the clients; are observed,

Most of the packet length is below 600  on a 655; and above 1000 bytes when it is connected to working AP(2xx/3xx)

    Regarding: AirSlice

    From the manual:
The 650 Series and 630 Series access points have the following limitations:
No Hotspot and AirSlice support on the 6 GHz radio

    From 8.9 manual:
The 630 Series access points (AP-635) support Air Slice on the 5 GHz radio band only

I tested a call on pure 6Ghz, same result, massiv packed and Round Trip Times.

Our testing this evening with disabling AirSlice on one ap-group in our production enivorment, has not been as sucessful as we would have hoped. Only a slight improvement.

We need to investigate the other recent changes we have made in our testing lab to see if these changes also need to be added to production.

We were asked to make changes to the ssid profile as detailed below. Changing these on a couple of AP in a  lab is different to changing our 7K+ live network, so some care will need to be taken to make changes.

We have a few more testing plans to go back through tomorrow, which we skipped today when we thought we could just disable airslice and fix everything.

    wlan he-ssid-profile <name>

    no he-mu-mimo

    no he-txbf

    !

    wlan ht-ssid-profile <name>

    no vht-mu-txbf-enable

    no vht-txbf-explicit-enable

    !

Thanks for testing 8.10.0.5 :-) , we had a quick look through the release notes and could not see any references to anything like this issue.

Further to Simon's message we have retested this morning. Airslice is most definatly breaking it, our test in production shows teams/sfb issues mostly resolved. We still have delayed start to video in teams. It may be worth turning off airslice for an AP group as a test. Just got off a call with engineering and they have lots more logs to look over. One of the TAC engineers we are working with has also recreated the issue.

Ok, but I don't see the logic.??

    [mynode] (config) #sh airslice-profile

    airslice profile List
    ---------------------
    Name References Profile Status
    ---- ---------- --------------
    default      2

    [mynode] (config) #sh airslice-profile default

    airslice profile "default"
    --------------------------
    Parameter Value
    --------- -----
    airslice-app-monitoring Disabled
    airslice-policy                  Disabled

    ([mynode] (config) #ap-group ap-group

    ([mynode] (AP group "ap-group") #show airslice-profile default

    airslice profile "default"
    --------------------------
    Parameter Value
    --------- -----
    airslice-app-monitoring Disabled
    airslice-policy                  Disabled

    Am I missing someting ?

Nope it looks like yours is disabled, unless there are other AP groups or profiles further down the hierarchy on the MM? It looks like you are on the MM node configuration.

We have a test and development enviroment, we called out from SfB and had one way audio. As soon as we reconnected after applying an disabled airslice profile it started working. Reversed this and it worked.

If I run the commands on one of the mobility devices I get the following showing it is enabled by default :-
    (XXX) #show airslice-profile default

    airslice profile "default"
    --------------------------
    Parameter Value
    --------- -----
    airslice-app-monitoring Enabled
    airslice-policy Enabled

The only place to run this is on the MM

    [md] #show airslice-profile default
The commands for applications run on MM need to be executed on /mm tree.

    and from yesterday:
"The 650 Series and 630 Series access points have the following limitations:
No Hotspot and AirSlice support on the 6 GHz radio"

Maybe a different problem than ours. The airslice-profile command can be run from the managed devices as well.

Sorry for my assertiveness, TAC instructed, and disabled air-slice at the Managed network level, and Teams call once again is working :)

This is to be a workaround; I understand work is in progress.

The reason for the calls working all other places than in a 5xx/6xx AP,

is that older model is not utilizing air slice at all…

Was this reintroduced in 8.10.0.6 ??, even when the issue was mitigated with a workaround to take out ear-slice was/are in place ?
And the issue was to be found in release note under : Table 6: Resolved Issues in ArubaOS 8.10.0.6

    • AOS-239662 Some clients experienced issues with audio transmission during
Skype and Microsoft Teams calls. The fix ensures that the clients do
not experience issues with audio transmission. This issue was
observed in APs running ArubaOS 8.10.0.4 or later versions.

It now seems to be reappearing, specially between SSID's/network's/VLAN's..
    (eg. Employee and guest)
Tested for now under Ap-655 (ax), not any ac.

    Anyone ?, please…
