I'm actually monitoring some interfaces on our core switch and want to send these mirror traffic to another switch.

    The setup looks like below.

    Aruba core ( 3810) :

interface Trk 1-10 > monitor all both mirror  1

    mirror 1 port 2/B2

    Aruba access switch (2540):

    interface 52 monitor

    mirror-port 18 > connect to IDS

However STP blocks LAN connections, the setup looks like this.
    Core 1/ A1 & 2/A1 > Access  Switch (Port 49 & 50)  - Used for LAN connections

Core 2/B2 > Access Switch Port 52 - Used for Port mirroring

    See logs:

    Core:

    I 06/17/24 11:32:04 00077 ports: ST2-CMDR: port 2/B2 is now off-line
    I 06/17/24 11:31:33 00076 ports: ST2-CMDR: port 2/B2 is now on-line
    I 06/17/24 11:31:32 00435 ports: ST2-CMDR: port 2/B2 is Blocked by STP

    Access:

    I 06/16/24 10:50:58 00076 ports: port 52 is now on-line
    I 06/16/24 10:50:58 00435 ports: port 50 is Blocked by STP
    I 06/16/24 10:50:58 00435 ports: port 49 is Blocked by STP

As i can see it shutdown the ports used for LAN connections.

    Can someone shed some light.
