    Hi all,

I'm having some issues getting my switch to sync time from the NTP server on my domain. We recently migrated the server to another DC due to a FSMO role change. I'm using a 2930F configured with NTP synchronization located in Central Time Zone. The time is off by about 23 minutes and I can't figure out why it is off. I have redacted the time server IP, but all other workstations and servers are using the server successfully on the network.

    timesync ntp
    no sntp
    ntp unicast
    ntp server x.x.x.x iburst
    ntp enable
    time daylight-time-rule continental-us-and-canada
    time timezone -360

The current time is 9:54am 8/31/2022 and my switch is showing 9:31am 8/31/2022

    CityHall-SW2# sh time

    x.x.x.x
     4 u 5143 10 37777... 0.001 1389.603 0.30809
-My offset is showing 1389 seconds which is about 23 minutes of offset. I've read online that this offset will slowly be adjusted, however after 2 days there has been no change to the offset.

I am a rookie when it comes to configuring the NTP settings on an Aruba switch. Any advice would be truly appreciated as I'd like to get this configured on all of my switches correctly.

Hi!, Stratum, Clock Offset and Root Dispersion values look a little strange to me compared to ones I'm used to see.

If I look at my NTP settings (very similar to your ones):

    timesync ntp
    ntp unicast
    ntp server 10.255.0.1 iburst
    ntp server 10.255.0.2 iburst
    ntp enable
    no telnet-server
    time daylight-time-rule western-europe
    time timezone 60

the outcome from my local NTP Servers (two Linux instances running chrony service) this i what I obtain:

    switch# show ntp status

    NTP Status Information

NTP Status             : Enabled         NTP Mode        : Unicast
Synchronization Status : Synchronized    Peer Dispersion : 0.00000 sec
    Stratum Number         : 3               Leap Direction  : 0
Reference Assoc ID     : 0               Clock Offset    : 0.35887 sec
    Reference ID           : 10.255.0.1      Root Delay      : 0.02804 sec
    Precision              : 2**-18          Root Dispersion : 0.91092 sec
    NTP Up Time            : 27d 14h 36m     Time Resolution : 819 nsec
    Drift                  : 0.00052 sec/sec

    System    Time : Thu Sep 1 09:07:14 2022
    Reference Time : Thu Sep 1 07:59:20 2022

    with these associations:

    switch# show ntp associations

    NTP Associations Entries

Remote          St   T    When   Poll  Reach    Delay    Offset   Dispersion
    --------------- ---- ---- ------ ----- -------- -------- -------- ----------
    10.255.0.1      2    u    238... 10    17       0.000    0.000    16.00000
    10.255.0.2      3    u    238... 10    17       0.000    0.000    16.00000

What is the software version running on your Aruba 2930F switch?
