    Update: 50Gb tri-speed transceivers

    Overview

I posted 8 months ago about the ability of the Aruba 50Gb multimode SR transceiver to run at the selected speed of 10, 25 or 50Gb (see original post Howto: 50Gb tri-speed transceivers)

Additional 50Gb transceivers were released by HPE Aruba Networking at the end of 2023 - and they mostly support this tri-speed capability as well!

    Tri-speed support

These are the transceivers that support tri-speed 10, 15, 50Gb:

    • R0M48A    Aruba 50G SFP56 LC SR 100m MMF XCVR
    • S0V64A    HPE ANW 50G eSR 300m MMF XCVR
    • S0V65A    HPE ANW 50G LR 10km SMF XCVR
    • S0V66A    HPE ANW 50G ER 40km SMF XCVR

Note that 50Gb the bidirectional (BiDi) transceivers are fixed speed at 50Gb only.

    • S1C92A    HPE ANW 50G BR10-D 1330/1270 XCVR
    • S1C94A    HPE ANW 50G BR10-U 1270/1330 XCVR

Support details are shown in the AOS-Switch and AOS-CX Transceiver Guide - an excellent reference guide to keep handy. Edition 17 will be here soon!
