Hi there. I have an iap network running Aruba os 6 (as shown)

And I want to update them to aruba 8, but I'm not sure which image specifically would be required for this network (They are IAP-204)

I tried to upload the image ArubaInstant_Centaurus_8.6.0, but over the menu says "invalid image" and uploading over console it says "unsupported device detected"

Which version would I require in this case?

You would want to use the https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/ Site and look in the Software and Document Search, and filter out the AP model.

IAP-204 looks like it only runs 6.x code and there is no available 8.x code: https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/downloads;products=Aruba%20Access%20Points;productSeries=Aruba%20200%20Series%20Campus%20Access%20Points;fileContents=Software

The IAP-204 (200 Series) cannot be upgraded to 8.x. You are already running the latest and last version available (6.5.4.27). Several other "Centaurus" models can run 8.6, which is the last available 8.x software for Centaurus, but the 200 Series is not one of those. Used WAPs are incredibly cheap. Upgrade if you need to run later software.
