Okay, thanks all for the hints/input.
Currently, I'm not sure whether I should try the full reset to avoid making it more worse and run into same scenario like
@AlainWolf mentioned, that the switch stopped working at all.
And since there is no other way to revert the update, crossing-fingers my switch will stay alive for a while.
Is there a chance to get any support from HPE/Aruba for this issue?

Static DHCP - meaning the DHCP server always assigns the same fixed address, based on the MAC. FWIW I did try setting a static address, but that made no difference.
Possibly interesting additional note: Rolling back to an earlier version has *not* fixed the issue for me. Web server remains at 192.168.1.1 even after going back to 02.12

Right, this approach was already mentioned by @parnassus initially, which I've tested without success.
Despite the fact, that the web-interface is not reachable on address 192.168.1.1, I also did not receive a ping response on that address but I still get a ping for the static address.
@Westside guy: just to understand your scenario - what did your switch use before the update to P2.15: Static or DHCP address?

That could have been worded better on my part. What I meant was that the web server component wasn't picking up the assigned address and moving to it - it's seemingly staying on 192.168.1.1

Hello, "it's like the switch isn't picking up its own DHCP address." what does this statement mean? if the Switch doesn't receive a DHCP Offer it should fail back to assigning 192.168.1.1 to its VLAN 1 interface so it should automatically be available at that IP Address.
As I initially wrote above:
"...maybe the switch defaulted to DHCP mode for its VLAN 1 IP Addressing waiting for an IP Address to be assigned by a DHCP Server (if any) until, when it doesn't receive one, it fails back by auto-assigning the 192.168.1.1 IP Address to VLAN 1 for its Web Management (as per Quick Setup Guide). Have you tried?"
So it's a matter to configure a Client PC to test that connectivity (I mean a Client PC directly connected to that Switch configured with a compatible fixed IP Address trying to connect to 192.168.1.1).

I just ran into this and found that the web interface is actually accessible at 192.168.1.1 - it's like the switch isn't picking up its own DHCP address.
I was able to get at the interface by manually configuring my computer with the address 192.168.1.42 / 255.255.255.0 + gateway 192.168.1.1 and then pointing my web browser at 192.168.1.1

Yes. Unless there is a secret way to revert to the backup image without a working web interface, that device is probably bricked.

Alain, did I understood it correctly, that the full reset did not help either?

I have the same issue on a 1820-24G (J9980A) and a 1820-8G (J9979A) after updating from PT.02.12 to PT.02.15.

Hi community,
I did a firmware update (PT.02.14 -> PT.02.15) of my switch HPE 1820 24G PoE+ (185W) Switch (J9983A):
https://asp.arubanetworks.com/downloads/software/RmlsZToxYmRmNzBjOC0zMzg2LTExZWQtODhmYy0yZjNjYzJkOTVjMjQ%3D
Since then the web interface is not working but traffic is passed normally, POE devices are working and I can also ping it.
Any idea what the issue might be and how fix it?
Thanks,
Oliver
