In one of our offices, all wireless users get disconnected for 10-15 seconds around noon time. Majority of users are on 5GHz (only a couple on 2.4 GHz). Any suggestions? I've check the network side, mobility master configs, etc. The only thing I have done thusfar is disable the DFS channels. I read that "As DFS channels can automatically switch to other channels with lower interference, they may cause a brief disconnection during the switch", but I'm not confident that this is the fix.

You should enable user debugging. "show log wireless x" will show you if there was DFS activity around that time.

The one issue I have is that the disconnect only lasts for 15 seconds, so I would not be able to do the debug while the issue is actually occurring. I wouldn't know about it until someone tells me after they reconnect.

What is the debug command for debugging a specific user? And does it make any sense to do the debug after the issue occurs?

That means that (1) the access point detected radar and (2) You are using 80mhz channels. Channels 120 to 124 are the channels where weather radar reside and should be unchecked from your channel plan. You also should be using either 40mhz or 20 mhz wide channels so you have more non-DFS channels available.

This message indicates that you might only have a single 80mhz channel enabled in your regulatory domain profile and when radar hits, it has nowhere else to go.

I would
(1) In your radio profile, make your max and minimum channel width 40
(2) In your regulatory domain profile attached to that AP-group, enable all 40mhz channels except for 120 to 124

Make those changes in the off hours sometime before the typical airmatch period of 3am.

You shoud uncheck the underlined checkboxes, because they border on channels 120-124.

In the 5ghz radio profile, you should change the maximum and minimum channel width to 40mhz.

1 - Ok, so do NOT uncheck any of the "Valid 802.11a channels"? Only uncheck those 2 "Valid 802.11a 40MHz channel pair" that you underlined?

2 - Could this have been why users were getting disconnected?

The issue just re-occurred even after I made those DFS changes yesterday. AOS 8.6, AP 305, 2-3 times per day users get disconnected then reconnect after about 10 seconds.

I did a sh ap client trail info command and get messages such as:

Unspecified failure STA has roamed to another AP
UAC changed
Dorman STA Del

Also, why would the AP use channel 116 if I unchecked that from the 5 GHz radio profile?

Are you certain that the regulatory domain profile attached to that AP group has those channels unchecked? It seems like it changed to 40mhz which is better.

I did notice that the switch interfaces connecting to the controllers flapped - all of them flapped (2 interfaces per controller)

At this point I would open a technical support case so that they can look at the full picture. There could be an infrastructure connectivity issue at play here

Hi, if you're using more than 1 cable from the controllers to the switches make sure of the following:

LACP is configured correctly in the controller

LACP is configured correctly in the switches

STP is disabled in the controllers (as per Aruba best practice)

I had a customer a couple years ago where some clients got disconnected and reconnected several times a day and after several hours of troubleshooting we found out the lacp was incorrectly configured, once we corrected the lacp config those clientes didn't disconnect anymore.

That topology change is what could temporarily disable redundant ports. It could be caused by another switch upstream. I would just disable it on the switch and configure lacp properly like the person above suggested.
