This article holds good for CPPM 6.2 and greater
On CPPM login at "Configuration » Service Templates", we would see the below list of templates available.We would be discussing the details about "802.1X Wired Access Service Template" template in this article.For end-hosts connecting through an Ethernet LAN, with authentication via IEEE 802.1X. This template configures AD Authentication Source; joins this node to an AD Domain; creates Enforcement Policy for AD based attributes; creates Network Access Device.Name Prefix: User can give a name to this template.Authentication: The drop down will gives an option to select from the list of authentication sources.Once we select the authentication source, the autofill feature of CPPM fill in related values to the Authentication TabUnder the "Wired Network Settings" select the Switch from the drop down.Once we select the correct device from the drop down, all the fields will be auto populated.Under the "Enforcement Details", we can enter the details based on our requirements.After saving this we would see a service added with the following name and details.This is the generic service created by the template. We can however again customize it based on our requirements.Say we would want to add a new authentication source to it,We can edit the service and add a new source from the drop down.
