Automatic clock adjustment for Daylight Saving Time

Feb 28, 2018 04:51 AM

Q:

Automatic clock adjustment for Daylight Saving Time

A:

ArubaOS 8.2.0.0 introduces support for automatic timezone updates that include the relevant daylight savings time (DST) across timezones. Summer time or DST is now automatic based on the timezone, which is now an IANA timezone. List of timezone here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones

This is done in view with keeping the time up-to-date and precise with daylight savings time adjustments effected automatically. Hence, the Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time check box that was available in earlier versions is no more available in the Clock accordion.

For example, if you are located in Boston, you can set timezone to "America/New_York" from the drop-down (in WebUI)

If you do not want automatic DST, you can select "Etc/GMT+5" for EST timezone.
