How IPv6 messages like RA, RS are affected/changed when we enable broadcast-filter all?

Aruba Employee

Question- How IPv6 messages like RA, RS are affected/changed when we enable broadcast-filter all?

Environment- Behaviour as of AOS 6.4.0

Answer- If broadcast-filter arp/all is enabled, then RS packets will not be propagated down the wifi tunnel, but will be flooded on the wired side.
RA responses to RS will be dependent on what the router is configured for. Router can be configured to send RA response as unicast.

If VLAN pool is enabled, then RA will be converted to unicast automatically if it goes out as multicast.
