Question: How do I check the transmit and receive data rate on a mesh network?
Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba controllers and Aruba OS 3.3.1.
The mesh point will associate to the parent mesh node using either the radio a or b/g to establish the wireless backhaul connection to the wired networks.
To check the transmit rate, receive rate, last received Signal to Noice Ratio (SNR), and last ACK SNR, follow these steps:
Step 1:
Identify the name of the parent node for the mesh point using the following command:
(STU2) #show ap mesh topology
Example:
The parent AP name for point:9c is portal:be
(STU2) #show ap mesh topo Mesh Cluster Name: stu2-mesh
----------------------------
Name Mesh Role Parent Path Cost Node Cost Link Cost Hop Count RSSI Last Update Uplink Age #Children
---- --------- ------ --------- --------- --------- --------- ---- ----------- ---------- ---------
point:9c Point portal:be 1 0 0 1 32 4m:29s 26m:26s 0
portal:36 Portal - 0 0 0 0 0 3m:34s 3h:26m:34s 0
portal:be Portal - 0 1 0 0 0 27s 3h:26m:25s 1 Total APs :3
(R): Recovery AP. For Portals 'Uplink Age' equals uptime.
Step 2:
Get the client data using the following command:
show ap debug client-table ap-name <name>
Example:
Tx rate : 36 Mbps
Rx rate : 48 Mbps
Last ACK SNR : 32
Last RX SNR: 26
(STU2) #show ap debug client-table ap-name portal:be
