How to configure centralized licensing feature in Aruba OS 6.3 for master/standby and local scenario?

Jul 17, 2014 09:00 AM

Introduction : In Master/standby and local scenario, we need to manually configure "centralized licensing" on the master controller alone. No configuration is needed on the standby and local controllers.

In this scenario the standby master will automatically become the standby license server. Master-redundancy configuration will be used for license server redundancy. All the local controllers will become license clients.

Feature Notes : Centralized licensing feature is disabled by default.

Environment : Aruba OS 6.3 and above.

Network Topology : Master/standby and local controllers.

Configuration Steps : Before enabling Centralized Licensing:

(Master) (config) #show license profile

License provisioning profile
----------------------------
Parameter              Value
---------              -----
Centralized Licensing  Disabled

To enable Centralized Licensing:

\

(Master) #configure terminal
Enter Configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z

(Master) (config) #license profile
(Master) (License provisioning profile) #centralized-licensing-enable

Verification : After enabling the Centralized Licensing:

(Master) (config) #show license profile

License provisioning profile
----------------------------
Parameter              Value
---------                       -----
Centralized Licensing  Enabled
