How to enable IPv6 processing on a Aruba Mobility Controller?

Introduction : For controller to start processing IPv6 packets at L3, it has to be globally enabled on the controller.

 

Feature Notes : Required for enabling and functioning of any other IPv6 functionality on the controller.

 

Environment : IPv6 used on controller interfaces and by clients.

 

Network Topology : Controller (IPv6) ======= Uplink Router (IPv6)

 

Configuration Steps : To enable IPv6 in the controller globally, run the below command.

 (config) #ipv6 enable

 

Answer : Post enabling one should be able to ping IPv6 interfaces on the Controller.

 

Verification: (config) #show ipv6 global

Global IPv6 Packet Processing is Enabled

 

Troubleshooting : One should be able to ping other IPv6 devices as the subnet of the Controller.
 
#show ipv6 global
Global IPv6 Packet Processing is Enabled

#ping ipv6 2001::2
Press 'q' to abort.
