What is Spatial Multiplexing?

Aruba Employee

Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba controllers and ArubaOS 3.x.

Spatial Multiplexing uses multiple antenna and multiple radios (MIMO) to transmit different packet streams out on different antennas at the same time. The 802.11n receiver can distinguish between these separate streams. This technique can double or even triple the amount of data that can be sent over the air at the same time.
