What is file syncing and how to enable it?

Mar 29, 2017 03:57 PM

Requirement:

Aruba Controller running 6.4 and above with active access points.

Solution:
  • In a master/local/standby deployment, the file syncing can be enabled to ensure that the regulatory-cert which has the AP regulatory information that is stored on the master is shared with its subordinate controllers.
  • File syncing is enabled by default, with a default sync time of 30 minutes.
  • The sync time can be set between 30 to 180 minutes.

Configuration:
We can execute below commands to configure file syncing for AP regulatory-cert file across subordinate controllers.

(Aruba7210) #configure terminal
Enter Configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z

(Aruba7210) (config) #file syncing profile
(Aruba7210) (File syncing profile) #file-syncing-enable
(Aruba7210) (File syncing profile) #sync-time 30
(Aruba7210) (File syncing profile) #!
(Aruba7210) (config) #exit
(Aruba7210) #

Verification
We can verify if the file syncing has been enabled or not with below commands and also the Regulatory-cert file version on all the controllers has been in sync or not.

(Aruba7210) #show file syncing profile
