What is the free-channel-index parameter in ARM?

Jul 06, 2014 11:26 AM

Product and Software: This article applies to controllers A200, A800, A804, A800-E, A2400, A2400-E, A5000, and A6000 running only Aruba AirOS 2.x.

The free-channel-index parameter is used for ARM configuration. The default value is 25 and the values range between 10 - 40.

The free channel index is the difference between interference index of new channel and current channel. To initiate channel change, the interference index of the new channel has to be less than the current channel by a value equal to or more than the free channel index. The higher the value of the free-channel-index parameter, the lower the chance AP will move to a new channel.

Global configuration mode command:

(Aruba5000) (config) #arm free-channel-index < 10 - 40 >
