Why internal server ip address on Local controller is referring to Master controller's ip address?

Apr 09, 2015 10:08 AM

Environment : This article applies to Aruba Controllers running Master-Local setup.

In a Master-Local setup, any authentication request hitting any Local controllers in a cluster, that needs to be verified against internal server, will always be looked up from Master controller's database, which is a default setup. Due to this reason, IP address for internal server on Local controller would show Master controller's ip address.

Only upon changing internal database to look up from it's own local switch, the ip address for Internal server will start referring as it's own ip address. Henceforth corresponding controller will start validating any incoming authentication request against internal server from it's own database.
