Functionality of "AllowAll" service under airgroup in Instant OS

Nov 25, 2015 04:09 PM

Q:

What is the functionality of "AllowAll" service under airgroup in Instant OS?

A:

In Instant OS, we can enable Airgroup and below are the pre-configured services available:

18:64:72:c6:d7:28# show airgroup status
----------------------------------------------------------
airplay
airprint
itunes
remotemgmt
sharing
chat
googlecast
DIAL
DLNA Media
DLNA Print
allowall

When we select allowall, it doesnt mean that all the services will be enabled. When "allowall" Airgroup service is enabled, device that advertises services which are not configured in the IAP and are dynamically added to allow all Airgroup service.

To ensure that the Airgroup service is functioning properly make sure to select what all service/service-id's are applicable and allow them all.

18:64:72:c6:d7:28# show airgroupservice

AirGroupService Details
-----------------------
Service      Description                      Status      Disallowed-Role  Disallowed-VLAN  ID
----------     --------------------------           -----------     ---------------------     -----------------------  ---
allowall   Remaining-Services      Disabled

Note: On Aruba OS(controllers), the functionality is slightly different. If "allowall" is enabled, irrespective of any configured service being disabled, it will still work/be allowed.
