Question:  How do I reset the Aruba Instant password if I have more than one IAP?

Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba Instant and AruabOS versions.

To change the Aruba Instant password, console into the master Aruba Instant AP (IAP) and follow these steps:

Log in to the console of the Aruba Instant with these credentials:

User: admin

Password: forgetme!

To see the password, issue this command:

show mgmt-user

If the password is encrypted, issue this command to disable the encryption:

encrypt disable

To see the password, issue this command:

show mgmt-user

To reset the password, issue this command:

# Conf t

(conf t)#mgmt-user admin <password>

This procedure does not require a reboot. The active master remains as the active master, and this new password is pushed to all other IAPs.
