    Hello everybody

    In our company we have 5 Alcatel-Lucent OAW-AP205. The firmware 6.5.1.0-4.3.1.1_57902 is outdated, and it is not possible to update through the web interface. Only our certified reseller can do this...

     

    Is it possible to put the aruba OS on the APs and manage updates ourselves without a reseller? Is this legal/recommended or may I get in trouble? Anything else I should be aware of?

    Hello,

     

    In their brand of IAPs, Alcatel had asked us to block auto updates via the image server. They want their customer to go to their support site and manually upgrade-assuming customer has a valid support contract. Have you tried contacting the partner? You can contact Alcatel support at egb_global_supportcenter@al-enterprise.com and voice your concern

     

    Moving to Aruba brand AOS or Instant means you would migrate your IAPs to Aruba and be supported by Aruba. If this is an intention to migrate, we suggest you contact your local Aruba account team.
